Diesel engines are the best in their performance

The Ford Galaxy is one of the most Practical MPV in the range and offers plenty of space, technology and comfort, though with a new look but still not come out from the phase of the brilliant S-Max.

If you are in the field of transportation and need to carry lots of people around the cities or frequently travel to the airports with heavy suitcases and to travel with deliveries of markets, the best option for you is the Galaxy, because of the combination of fuel economy and low running cost with excellent electronically controlled seating flexibility.

Chivalry in rivalry

It competes directly with other large seven-seat  MPV’s such as VW Sharan, Citroen Grand C4 Picasso, and Seat Alhambra. It is the galaxy that defines true sense of MPV after Renault Grand Scenic claimed to be the matchless leader of this class.

The ford galaxy is surprisingly refined, smooth, and good to drive with a good range of engines.

There are two Ford Galaxy turbocharged Ecoboost petrol engines available in the market with a choice of 158bhp 1.5litre and 240bhp 2.0litre. Both of these do not suite to a large seven-seated MPV due to their poor economy and average of 35m/g. the 1.6 litre is able to return a fuel economy of 43m/g with same bhps.

Galaxy feels much comfort with its diesel versions. They have more pulling power without shifting gears rapidly, means good torque and performance with fuel efficiency. The 148bhp 2.0litre TDCi diesel is the best in this regard with lot of power that takes the big vehicle from 0-62 m/h within 11 seconds.

It offers better fuel consumption and emission than the equivalent diesels in the Seat Alhambra and VW Sharan. Every version of the TDCi engine revs freely and there’s hardly any clatter that you might typically associate with a diesel, so it complements Ford Galaxy’s refined nature. Despite the size of the Galaxy its fuel economy and CO2 emissions are very reasonable .It is because of 2.0litre TDCi diesel engine which enables the Galaxy to return 57m/g while emitting 129g/km of CO2.

A low powered 119bhp version is also in the market but it doesn’t offer any economy for such a large MPV as the Galaxy is. There’s a different version in the same capacity with 178bhp gives extra power when you have got a fully loaded car. With this version galaxy is the second quicker in MPV’s range reaching from 0-62m/h in 9.8 seconds. It is got plenty of low-down shove from 1500rpm, and continues pulling the loaded car all the way to 4000rpm. It is a smooth performance.

The standard six-speed manual gearbox is well precise and smooth in working, Ford galaxy is also available with six-speed automatic gearbox on demand for quicker, faster and accurate response. An option in the Ford Galaxy that is rare in MPV’s class is its four –wheel-drive version known as AWD. It is in the market with two different outputs, 150bhp 2.0 litre diesel engine along with manual gearbox and 180bhp in automatic conversion. This model gives a perfect road grip during not only in wet weather conditions but even in dry weather makes your driving safe.
