It is one of the largest MPVs out in the market

A good night’s sleep, money and meditation. You know all these things are good for you even if you don’t always subsume them into your daily life. A vital add-on to that list is travel, which offers a host of health benefits to your mind, body, and soul.

Anybody who has travelled outside his or her comfort zone can provide the clear evidence of the excitement that comes from being in a new environment. And if your travel partner is Ford Galaxy, you can come out with ease.

The Ford Galaxy is the largest MPV in the range, also the roomiest. A seven-seater, the back two seats fold electrically into the floor and the central row of seats drops down at the press of a button, all these make Ford Galaxy an extremely practical MPV. The Galaxy’s biggest prevailing rivals are the Volkswagen Sharan and Seat Alhambra but they lag behind the Ford in terms of dynamic appeal.

The Ford Galaxy Continues the Legacy

Ford has always enjoyed the reputation of building cars that are a lot more fun to drive and the previous Ford Galaxy handled well and the new Galaxy is ready to dine. Ford Galaxy engines make the Galaxy a best MPV out here in the rat race.

There are two turbocharged Eco Boost petrol engines, the 1.5 litre 158bhp and the 2.0 litre with 237bhp. Both are fast and furious, as the first strikes 62mph in 10 seconds exactly and the final has got the momentum, smashing 0-62mph in 8.6 seconds. The 1.5 has the lowest price point in the range and is good for low mileage drivers, while the powerful 2.0-litre is something of a performance flagship.

The diesel gets the overwhelming bulk of sales, for sure. The 148bhp 2.0 TDCI is the best seller, consuming 10.9 seconds to hit 0-62mph and has a wealth of acceleration in the mid-range. A lower powered 119bhp version is also obtainable but it doesn’t offer any economy or emissions benefits and it makes 0-62mph at 13.6 seconds, so it’s really just an economical option.

If you adopt the 178bhp version of the 2.0 TDCI engine, the extra pulling power is waiting for you especially when you’ve got a chockfull car. The 207bhp variant of the 2.0 TDCI is the most powerful of the diesel and is really known for the thriving drive, it goes for 0-62mph in 8.9 seconds with heaps of mid-range punch.

Every version of the TDCi engine revs freely and there’s hardly any clatter that you might typically associate with a diesel, so it complements the Galaxy’s improved nature.

The Ford Galaxy is Cake from Inside

The interior is not only made from high-tech materials than its forerunner but also looks right up to date. A bulky brushed aluminium trim and a host of smart geometric shapes such as the air vents give the interior a new-fangled, sensational feel, while the optional full-length panoramic glass roof pours the interior with light and makes it feel twice as big again.

Galaxy drivers will now get an elevated driving position with a great all-around view, which is red carpet when parking. However, the size and angle of the windscreen pillar can block your view through right-hand bends. The driving position is exceptional. There is absolutely no issue if the driver is six-footed because the Ford Galaxy caters very well through many seats and steering wheel adjustments. That’s why it is recommended to get Ford Galaxy engine supply and fit service periodically to maintain the health of Ford Engine.

The front seats are pretty snug but would benefit from more side support to hold you more firmly in corners. Interior quality is simply majestic, with a bunch of soft-touch plastics, but a Sharan or Alhambra is even better.

The dashboard is more loving now

The dashboard is functional and very practical as there are unexpectedly few buttons. Many of the operations are taken care of by Ford’s latest Sync 3 infotainment system and voice commands.

The system is perfect; the menus are easy enough to navigate and it has a decent 8.0in high-definition touchscreen. The auto-braking function can now spot pedestrians as well as other cars, while compatible LED headlights attune themselves automatically to eschew blinding oncoming traffic.
